Augusta Florence was born on December 22nd, 1859 in Richmond, KY. Augusta Florence's father was Thomas Ephriam Shifflet and her mother was Sally Elizabeth Orchard. Her maternal grandfather is Levi Orchard and her maternal grandmother was Susan Shifflet. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Grafton Corrington, James Irvin, John J., Thomas Milton, Levi, George Houston, Joseph, Sarah and Susan.
