Jean I De was born about 1240. Jean I De's father was Louis I De Sancerre and his mother was Blanche De Courtenay. His paternal grandfather was Guillaume De Sancerre and his paternal grandmother is Marie De Charenton; his maternal grandfather was Robert I De+ Courtenay and his maternal grandmother is Constance De Toucy.
