Alain IX De was born about 1386. Alain IX De's father was Alain VIII De Rohan and his mother was Beatrix De Clisson. His paternal grandparents were Jean I De Rohan and Jeanne De Leon; his maternal grandfather was Olivier V De Clisson and his maternal grandmother is Beatrix De Laval. He was an only child.
