Johann IV Von's father was Johann III Von Reifferscheid and his mother was Richarde De La Mark. His paternal grandfather is Johann II Von Reifferscheid and his paternal grandmother was Kunigunde Von Virneburg; his maternal grandfather was Eberhard I+ De La Mark and his maternal grandmother is Maria Von Looz.
