Margery was born about 1408 in Atholl, Perthshire, Scotland. Margery's father was Henry Percy and her mother was Elizabeth Bruce. Her paternal grandfather was Thomas Percy and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth De Strabolgi; her maternal grandfather is Matthew Bruce. She had a sister named Elizabeth.
