Sophia's father was Allen Napier McNab and her mother was Mary Stuart. Her maternal grandparents are John Stuart and Sophia Jones. She was an only child. She died in 1917.General Notes

Sophia and William Coutts were married in a religious ceremony on November 15th, 1855 in Dundurn Castle, Canada West 9Now Hamilton, Ontario. They had two sons named Arnold Allan Cecil and George.
