General Notes
John and Mary Campbell McKee "lived for awhile at the Glendale home. The father of Mary Gates Campbell gave her some acreage near the homestead. Here, John and Mary built a home and some barns" and later moved there. "The Glendale farm was leased to the eldest son, Fred, about 1914. The parents built a home at Beaver Valley, Pennsylvania and lived there until their deaths. The McKee farm was later bought by the state and was incorporated into the Prince Galitzin State Park. The Glendale Lake and Dam are near the old Gates homestead. The water of the lake covers the spot where two of the Gates brothers lived, and it also covers the old Glendale Post Office and store, which was run by the Gates family."
