Anne Catherine was born about 1776 in Durham, England. Anne Catherine's father was Randal William McDonnell and her mother was Letitia Morres. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander McDonnell and Anne Plunkett; her maternal grandparents were Hervey Morres and Letitia Ponsonby. She had a sister named Charlotte.
