Maria Von was born on August 3rd, 1491. Maria Von's father was Wilhelm VIII Von Julich and her mother was Sibylle Von Hohenzollern. Her paternal grandparents were Gerhard VII Von Julich and Sophia Von Sachsen-Lauenburg; her maternal grandparents were Albrecht III Von Hohenzollern and Anna Von Sachsen. She was an only child.
