Gerald was born about 1360 in Kneyth, Lincolnshire, England. Gerald's father was Maurice Fitzgerald and his mother is Elizabeth Burghersh. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Fitzgerald and Joan De+ Burgh; his maternal grandparents were Bartholomew De+ Burghersh and Elizabeth De+ Verdun. He had two brothers named Thomas and John. He was the youngest of the three children. He died on October 13th, 1432.General Notes
