William was born about 1363. William's father was John+ Fitzalan and his mother was Eleanor+ Maltravers. His paternal grandparents were Richard II+ Fitzalan and Eleanor+ Plantagenet; his maternal grandfather was John+ Maltravers and his maternal grandmother is Gwenthlian+. He had a brother and a sister, named John+ and Joan+. He was the oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother named Reginald+. He died on August 1st, 1400.General Notes
