Robert was born about 1434 in Sanquhar, Dumfrieshire, Scotland. Robert's father was Robert+ Crichton and his mother is Elizabeth+ Erskine. His paternal grandparents are Robert+ Crichton and Elizabeth+ Erskine; his maternal grandparents are William+ Erskine and Nm+ X. He had a brother and two sisters, named Patrick+, Christian and Margaret. He was the oldest of the four children. He died before February 1495.General Notes
