Richard was born in 1540 in Combermere, Chestershire, England. Richard's father was George Cotton and his mother was Mary Olney. His paternal grandparents are John Cotton and Cicely Mainwaring. He was an only child. He died at the age of 62 on June 14th, 1602 in Stoke, Coventry, England.General Notes
