Thomas was born about 1447 in Over Peover, Cheshire, England. Thomas' father was William+ Mainwaring and his mother is Margaret+ Warren. His paternal grandparents were Randel+ Mainwaring and Margery+ Venables; his maternal grandparents are John De+ Warenne and Emma Matilda+ Cheney.
