Vinson Thomas was born on January 12th, 1866 in Hutton Twp., Coles, IL.  Vinson Thomas' father was Solomon I. Beavers and his mother was Suzannah Strader.  His paternal grandparents are William L. Beavers and Nancy Brandenburg; his maternal grandparents were Vincent Strader and Patience Stewart. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Matthais, Henry, James W., William Francis, Charles P., John W., Laura Ann, Margaret June, Emeline V., Nancy Jane and Minnie Caroline.  He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 58 on January 9th, 1925 in Charleston, Coles, IL.
