Zachariah Allen 
Zachariah was born on July 5th, 1796 in Chatham Co., NC. Zachariah's father was William Allen and his mother was Jane Hobson. His paternal grandparents are Zachariah Allen and Lavinia Jones; his maternal grandparents were Charles Hobson and Sarah Beck. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Charles, Zimri, Joseph, Phebe, Mary Ann, Lavina and Hannah. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 69 on September 23rd, 1865 in Marshall Co., IA.General Notes
