Cadwallon was born about 0591 in Wales.  Cadwallon's father was King Cadfan ap Iago of Gwynedd and his mother is Tandreg ("Ddu") verch Cynan.  His paternal grandfather was King Iago ap Beli of Gwynedd; his maternal grandfather was King Cynan Garwyn ("Garwyn" [the cruel]) ap Brochwel of Powys and his maternal grandmother is Gwenwynwyn of the Scots.  He was an only child.  He died  due to killed in battle.

They had a son named "Fendigaid" [the Blessed].
