Cynan Garwyn, known as "Garwyn" [the cruel], was born about 0544 in Powys, Wales.  "Garwyn" [the cruel]'s father was King Brochfael (Ysgythr [of the tusks]) ap Cyngen of Powys and his mother is Arddun Penasgell ferch Pabo.  His paternal grandparents are King Cyngen ap Cadell Ddyrnllwg of Powys and St. Tanglwst ferch Brychan; his maternal grandfather was King Pabo Post Prydyn of the Pennines.  He was an only child.  He died in 0610.


"Garwyn" [the cruel]'s family with Gwenwynwyn of the Scots

They had a son and a daughter, named Eiludd and "Ddu".
