Emperor Inger (the Scandanavian) Theophilus 
Inger, known as the Scandanavian, was born in Byzantium. The Scandanavian's father was Emperor Michael ("the Amorian", "the Stammerer") II of the Byzantium Empire and his mother was Thekla of the Mamikonid. His paternal grandfather was Imperator Leon of Amorium; his maternal grandfather was Artavazd Mamikonian. He was an only child. He died in 0842.General Notes

According to "History of the Byzantine Empire", by A.A. Vasilev, the main theme of Theophilus' reign (829-842) was the life and death struggle with the Arabs. This caused Theophilus to seek assistance from the Western European rulers. He recieved moral support, but very little substantial assistance.
