Maud was born in 1100 in Hunstanton, Norfolk, England.1   Maud's father was Ralph Fitzherlewin Hunstanton and her mother was Helewisa De Plaiz.  Her paternal grandparents were Herlewin De Hunstanton and Helewisa De Plaiz; her maternal grandfather was Hugh De Plais and her maternal grandmother is Hugh De Plaiz. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Simon, Reginald, Mabel, Matilda and Matilda Of.  She was the youngest of the six children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Ralph Fitzherlewin and Matlda.  She died at the age of 112 in 1212 in Y.1
