Source is somewhat suspect. There is no connection between the Sloet Family of Dutch Nobility and the Slot family which the book concerns. Genealogies are given for both - but no connection is identified - and none exists. This is an attempt to imply nobility connections which are not supported by fact.
The Slot (Sloat) genealogy is very disorganized and difficult to follow if you do not have other sources to help i.e. May Hart Smith's typescript of the John Drake Sloat Charts.
