His paternal grandparents were Gorm del Gammel 'The Old' King of Denmark and Thyra Klacksdatter of Jutland; his maternal grandfather was 'Mikg' Bjornsson King of Sweden Olaf and his maternal grandmother is Ingeberg Thrandsdottir. He had six brothers and eleven sisters, named Herbastus "den Danske" de, Herfast, Herfast, Eric King of, Swein (Swen), Herfast\Arfast of, Gunnora Haraldsdottir of Denmark (de, Gunnor, Wevia of, Senfrie, Senfrie of, Thyra, Duvelina, Avelina, Avelina, Avelina of and of Sweden. He had two half-sisters named Avelina FitzRichard and Wevie. He died in 1016 in Gainesborough,England.General Notes
Sweyn I, in Danish, Svend I, called Sweyn Forkbeard (960?-1014), king ofDenmark (985?-1014). He made an expedition against England in 994 andextorted a large amount of tribute money. Following a massacre of Danesin England in 1002, he conducted a further series of raids and in 1013led an invasion with the object of effecting a permanent conquest. Thefall of London and the flight of the English king Ethelred II to Normandyearly in 1014 made Sweyn master of the country.
