Katherine was born about 1307 in <, Dudley, Worcester, England>.1 Katherine's father was John I de Sutton and her mother was Margaret de Somery. Her paternal grandparents were Richard de Sutton and Isabella Patrick; her maternal grandfather was Roger II Seymour. She had a brother and two sisters, named Richard le Fisher de, Margaret de and Matildis. She is the second oldest of the four children.
