John was born about 1400 in Killeen, Meath, Ireland. John's father was Sir Christopher Plunkett and his mother was Joan Cusack. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Christopher (1st Baron of Dunsay), Thomas (Sir) (of Rathmore), Rowland, Edward, Matilda (Maud) and Maud. He died before 1445.General Notes
