Eva was born on September 6th, 1795 in , , Virginia, USA.1 Eva's father was George Peter Lough and her mother was Barbara Seals. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Adam, John, George, Peter, Phillip, Edward, John, Mary, Elizabeth and Barbara. She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.1
