John D. Laughlin 
John D. was born in 1788 in Washington County,Virginia.1 John D.'s father was John Abe Laughlin and his mother was Margaret Duncan. His paternal grandparents were James Laughlin and Mary Jane Dunkin; his maternal grandparents were John Duncan and Elinor Sharp. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James A., Thomas S., Melvin A., Joseph S., Jane, Elinor Mary and Matilda. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 45 in 1833 in Memphis,Tennessee.1 -
