Walter W. was born on May 22nd, 1817 in South Salem, Westchester co., New York. Walter W.'s father was Abraham Hoyt and his mother was Mary Smith. His paternal grandfather was Jachin Hoyt and his paternal grandmother is Hannah Keeler; his maternal grandparents are John Smith and Catherine Manchester. He had three brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named David, Solomon, Ira, Angeline, Sarah, Mary Anne, Catherine and Gould. He died at the age of 74 on January 11th, 1892 in Kansas.General Notes
