Joseph's father was Abram Hoyt and his mother is Dorothy Keeler. His paternal grandparents are Daniel Hoyt and Elizabeth Keeler; his maternal grandfather was Daniel Keeler and his maternal grandmother is Hannah Whitney. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Jachin, Abel, Daniel Keeler, Hannah, Isabel, Mary, Patty and Polly.General Notes
