His paternal grandparents were Edward d'Evereux Sheriff of Wiltshire and Maud FitzHubert; his maternal grandparents were Patrick II de Chaworth and Maud de Hesdin. He had a brother and two sisters, named William de, Sibyl and Hawise. He died due to killed by Guy de Lusignan about April 7th, 1168 in Battle of Poitou, France.
