His paternal grandparents were Francis Drake and Mary Walker; his maternal grandparents were William Trotter and Catherine Cutbury Gibbs. He had nine brothers and six sisters, named John, Francis, Samuel, Joseph, Abraham, Jacob, Ebenezer, Isaac, Ephraim, Sarah, Rebecca, Hannah, Abigail, Mary and Elizabeth. Extract of Will of Benjamin Drake: 1763, June 22, Drake, Benjamin, of Hopewell Twp., Hunterdon Co.; will of. "Being aged." Wife, Hannah [2nd wife], all the goods she brought when I married her; also £50. Daughter, Rebecca, £40. Son, Zachariah, £40. Daughter, Hannah [only child by 2nd wife], £40. Grandson, William Drake, the son of William Drake, £5. To Isaac Eaton, minister of Baptist Church of Hopewell, £2. Son, Edmond, my plantation where I live. Executor-- my sons, Edmond and Zachariah Drake. Witnesses-- John Lamburt, Daniel Gano, John Drake. Proved Aug. 30, 1763.

BENJAMIN DRAKE Born at Pisc., ca. 1683-4, was a son of Rev. JOHN DRAKE, and wife, Rebecca Trotter, and became the prominent and outstanding citizen of Hopewell, (vide, ante, this PART, p. 558). He certainly had a wife, MARY, determined to have been MARY RUNYON, (of VINCENT), when they organized the church there, in 1715, the time of his removal, with ROBERT DRAKE, both 1722, owners there, (vide, ante, this PART, p. 561). In GEDNEY, (p. 126), where that other great citizen, JONATHAN STOUT, wife, Ann; son, JOSEPH STOUT, wife, Ruth, SARAH (Stout) SMITH, wife of Andrew, Jr., THOMAS CURTIS, wife, Alse, (Alice or Aley), HANNAH STOUT, SARAH FITZRANDOLPH, nee BONHAM, widow of JOHN, and RACHEL HYDE, participated, at the home of JOSEPH STOUT. Mr. O. B. Leonard suggested that the second wife of BENJAMIN DRAKE was HANNAH DUNHAM, and, he may m. above HANNAH STOUT. In his will, he left a widow, Hannah, and named nearly all his children, (ARCH., Vol. XXXII, p. 120), dated 6-2, 1763; Rebecca, Zachariah, Hannah, William, Edmond, Daniel, Francis, Thomas and Nathaniel; proved, Aug. 30, 1763.
Whether or not BENJAMIN DRAKE m. (2) a Hannah Dunham or a Hannah Stout, he certainly m. (2) or (3) Hannah Seabrooke, (vide, STILLWELL, Vol. III, p. 405).
