Matilda Edith was born in October 1079 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.1   Matilda Edith's father was "Longneck" Canmore, King Of Scotland Malcolm III and her mother was St. Margaret Aetheling , Queen of Scotland.  Her paternal grandparents were 'The Gracious' King Of Scotland Duncan I and Sibyl Of Northumberland of Northumbria; her maternal grandparents were Prince Edward "The Exile" Aetheling and Agatha von Braunschweig of Hungary. She had four brothers and three sisters, named David, "The Saint", King Of Scotland, I King of Scotland, KIng of Scotland, Mary, Princess Of Scotland and Thora.  She died at the age of 38 on May 1st, 1118 in Westminster Abbey, London, England.  She was buried after May 1st, 1118 in Reading Abbey, Berkshire.1 2
