Adam (Adelm) de was born about 1051 in Brus Castle,Brix Castle,near Cherbourg,Normandy,Fr.1 Adam (Adelm) de's father was Robert I de Brus 1st Lord Brix and his mother was Gunnora (Emma) de Brittany. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Roger de, William I de, Allan, Robert De, Philina, Hortolina and Amicia. He was the third oldest of the eight children. SEARCH NOTES: ALSO spelled BRUCESon of Robert de Brus/Brix; younger bro. of William; son of Robert. Came to England in 1050, attending Queen Emma. Shortly after which he went to Scotland, but joined his father and brother later at the Conquest. He was rewarded with 94 lordships in Yorkshire, and d. 1079, in consequence of which his son Robert received these possessions and is entered in Domesday. [Falaise Roll, p. 88]
