William De was born about 1172 in Cornwall, England.  William De's father was William De Boterell and his mother was Isabel De Say Lady of Clun.  His maternal grandparents are Helias (Ingram) De Say Lord of Cluny and <Unnamed>. He had a brother named Reginald De. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named William, Robert De, Christina, Agnes, Petronil and Alianore.  He died about 1221.
