Dear Vernon , Thank you for all the work you have done. M y Father is
Clyde Barlow his dad was Mason Barlow. William Henry, an d Henry and so
on. I would be glad to fill in many of the gaps for you an d all
concerned. You only note my deceased brother John Roger B arlow, but I
was born before him on 1/20/ 45 ,and I can see why the ove rsight since
nothing happened to me. My Grandfather Mason Barlow had a b rother Jesse
whom I knew he lived out his days in Florida. I dont hav e time to

Henry owned land in Washington Co, Ky in 1793 according t o the early
taxrecords of Ky. Jane Barlow, the widow and re lict of Henry Barlow, died
before 12 Dec 1815, leaving a no ncupative will which was probated in WaCo,
Ky. The legatee s were sons: Julius and Joel and daughters Nancy andPeggy .
Whitnesses to this will were: Jacob Barlow, Luke Mudd, El izabethWynne and
Mary Wy nne. Henry and Jane had eleven chi ldren: James, Jacob,john,
Elizabeth, Sarah, Jesse, Mary, J u lius, Joel, Nancy and MargaretBarlow.

Text: In the name of God Amen, I Henry Barlow of the County Washi ngtonand
State of Kentucky being very sick in body but per fect mind and memorythans
be given unto God calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowingthat
is is appointe d for all men once to die, Do make and ordain this my last
will and Testement that is to say principally and in First of all, I give
and recommend my soul unto the hand of Alm ighty God that gave it and my
body I recommend to the earth to be buried in Decent Christian burial at
the direction of my executors Nothing doubting but at the general resur
rection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of god and as
touching such worldly estate wherewith it h as pleased God to bless me in
this life. I give and dispose of the same in the following manner andform.
First I give and bequeath to Timie my dearly beloved w ife all that trackof
land I now live on containing four hundred and fifty acres to have to hold
as long as She doet h remain my widow and no longer. As also my two negros
th e boy by the name of Jack the girl by the name of Nance asa lso twohave
thense the horse Tolle and the Division with as much of the stock of
Cattle, Sheep and hogs and househol d furniture as she in her discretion
shall think fit to retain.
Next I give unto my son Jacup one hundred and twenty f ive acres of landthe
same I bought of M. Waltons lying o n the waters of lick run in the County
of Washington.
To my son John I also leave a hundred acres adjoining the above track of
land I purchased the same of Elei _ _ _ _.
I also leave unto my three sons the names as follows . Jesse and Juliusand
Joel all that track of land I now li ve on with that twenty acresadjoining
the same to them to h ave by an equal Division aftere the death of their
Mother.
I do leave unto my dorters Nancy and Peggy my negor girl Nace with allhere
increase if any on the death of thei r Mother to be equally divided outand
if the negro Nance s hould dye and leave no increase then their Brothers
Jesse , Julius and Joel shall give unto their Sisters Nancy and P eggy the
sum of Eighty pounds to be equally divided. Als o I leave the rest of my
property unto my son James and m y Dorters Elizabeth and Sally and Maryall
my property not above mentioned with the ngor boy Jack in the name of god
Amen.

At a County court held for Washington County the 11 d ay of December 1809.
This will was proved by oaths of Peter e Sibert, Jacop Barlor, and Eleanor
Mudd subcribed witnesse s thereto and ordered to be recorded-- And on the
motion of Jacob Barlor one of the executor therein named who made oath and
executed and acknowledged bond with security as the law directs. A
certificate of probate therein granted him in due form. And liberty is
received to Joseph Dorson an d christopher Barlor the other executorstherin
named to join the said probate therof whenever they think proper.
