Nimrod Pumphrey 
Nimrod was born on February 2nd, 1790 in Ohio Co.,VA. Nimrod's father was William Ridgley Pumphrey and his mother was Elizabeth Holmes. His paternal grandparents were Resin (Reason) Pumphrey and Sophia Ridgely; his maternal grandfather was Obadiah Holmes and his maternal grandmother is Mary Clunn. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Elija, Zachariah, Rezin, Caleb, Joseph, William Ridgley, Elizabeth, Mary, Nancy and Charlotte. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 63 in 1853.-
