His paternal grandparents were Felix Grundy Warren and Elizabeth Frances Dearen. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Ballinger Wright, John Taylor, Ada Holt, Lula May and Stacy Jane. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Lewallen, William E., William Joseph, Alberta, Forrest Avery, Martha E., Mattie May and Alberta Lydia.
