Jack Alvin was born on December 25th, 1919 in Hope, Eddy Co., NewMexico.1 Jack Alvin's father was Riley Sylvester Waldrip and his mother was Emma J. Frisbee. His paternal grandparents were James Trousdel Waldrip and Alabama Maleance Graham. He had a brother and two sisters, named Howard Sylvester, Edith Lee and Blanch Catherine.
