James Underwood 
James was born in 1819 in Kentucky.1 James' father was Caleb Underwood and his mother was Elizabeth Mary Wardrum. His paternal grandfather was James Underwood and his paternal grandmother is Keziah Unknown. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Younger Richard, Abraham Hiram, Joshua, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha and Frances. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Parthena. He died at the age of 88 on December 5th, 1907 in Hendricks Co., Indiana.1 General Notes
