Parthena Underwood

Parthena was born in 1832 in Green Co., Kentucky.¹   Parthena's father was Caleb Underwood and her mother was Elizabeth Mudd.  Her paternal grandfather was James Underwood and her paternal grandmother is Keziah Unknown. She had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Younger Richard, Abraham Hiram, James, Joshua, Elizabeth, Mary, Martha and Frances.  She died at the age of 48 in January 1880 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.  She was buried in Green River Memorial Baptist Cemetery , Taylor Co., Kentucky.^1 1 

‌Parthena and Stephen were married in a religious ceremony on October 20th, 1864 in Taylor Co., Kentucky.¹   They had two sons named James P. and Lewis J..
