Veleta Skaggs

Veleta was born in 1899 in LaRue Co., Kentucky.¹ Veleta's father was Alonza Skaggs and her mother was Josie G. DeSpain. Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Thomas DeSpain and Sarah Frances Warren. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Hobart, Willie E., Jesse, Ernie, Clara, Bernice, Ona M. and Emile.
