Samuel Meshack was born on May 2nd, 1812 in Crab Orchard, Hardin Co., Kentucky.1 Samuel Meshack's father was Richard Skaggs and his mother is Elizabeth Wells. His paternal grandparents were Meshack Skaggs and Sarah Gumm. He had two brothers and three sisters, named William J., Richard,Jr., Sarah Henritta, Elizabeth and Ann.
