Lewis Skaggs 
Lewis was born in 1788 in Montgomery Co., Virginia.1 Lewis' father is Peter Skaggs and his mother is Martha Cothron. His paternal grandparents are Zachariah Skaggs and Anne Unknown. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Solomon, John Patrick, Jeremiah, Moses, Peter,Jr., Christian, Nancy, Isabelle, Rutha and Linney. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 71 in October 1859 in Lawrence Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
