Vina was born in 1876 in Breathitt Co. Kentucky.1 Vina's father was Samuel Ritchie and her mother was Artha Bradley. Her paternal grandfather was James Monroe Ritchie and her paternal grandmother is Hannah Fugate. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James, Linville, Lewis, William, Roseline Ann, Louvurina and Daisy. She is the third oldest of the eight children.General Notes
