Living's father was Lee Chasteen Pendley and his mother was Nancy Ann Putman. His paternal grandparents were Rowland W Pendley and Tennessee Udory Mabrey. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William G, Ivy M, Rice B, Ora L, Living and Living.
