Balus Monroe was born on January 4th, 1879.1 Balus Monroe's father was John Commodore Pendley and his mother was Sarah J Lee. His paternal grandparents were Francis Eslick Pendley and Cassandra B Whitaker. He had a brother and four sisters, named Louis Clyde, Viola P, Lula P, Verlie B and Mary Kate.
