Living's father was Robert Ap Owen and his mother was Lucy Eva Oliver. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Edward Owen and Margaret Ann Roberts; his maternal grandparents were Nicolas Oliver and Ellen (Ellenor) Warner. He had five brothers named Nicholas Robert, Vester Thomas, Herschel Clem, Living and Living.-
