Kate E. was born in 1853.1 Kate E.'s father was Ralph Whitsett Means and her mother was Lydia Jones. Her paternal grandparents were Ralph Benjamin Means and Hadessa Nancy Whitsett; her maternal grandparents are Rees Jones and Catherine Humbert. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Benny, Ralph, William B., Mary Price, Lulah Jones and Lydia Hadassa. She had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Edward Crosby, Mowry E., Eleanor D., Jeanette T., Josephine Agnes, Elmira C. and Sarah. She died about 1853. She was buried on August 22nd, 1853 in Allegheny Cem., Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania.1 1 General Notes
