Adelia Delilah Kirkland 
Adelia Delilah was born on May 4th, 1853 in Tennessee.1 Adelia Delilah's father was William (Bill) Kirkland and her mother was Sarah Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Zachariah Kirkland and Elizabeth Harris; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Smith and Ann Unknown. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Caroline, Robert Francis, Anthony, James Hilory, Leroy (Lee) and Arminta. She was the third youngest of the seven children. Adelia Delilah and Samuel Brown were married in a religious ceremony in 1872.1 They had five sons and a daughter, named Anthony, George Frederick, James Robert Leroy, Jasper Newton, William Joseph and Julia Thomas.
