Purvis Grigsby

Purvis was born in June 1869.¹ Purvis' father was James M. Grigsby and his mother is Martha Ann Pruitt. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Moody Grigsby and Emily Euphemia Smith. He has four brothers and four sisters, named James,Jr., Martin, Earl, Elmore, Emma, Nettie, Martha and Iva. He is the oldest of the nine children.
