John Conner was born on February 13th, 1818 in Conway, Horry Co., South Carolina.1 John Conner's father was William Bellamy Graham and his mother was Jane Conner. His paternal grandparents were William,Esquire Graham and Elizabeth Bellamy; his maternal grandfather was Edward Conner and his maternal grandmother is Sarah Unknown. He had nine brothers and seven sisters, named Edward Wesley, Daniel N., William Isaiah, Samuel Cornelous, George A. Marsden, Hosea Aldleton, Kenneth Asberry, Franklin Bellamy, Lorenzo Dow, Elizabeth Jane, Sarah Ann Rebecca, Eliza C., Margaret F., Dorcas Louisa, Mary Melvina and Katherine S. F.. He was the second oldest of the seventeen children. He died at the age of 77 on December 12th, 1895 in Marion Co., Florida. He was buried in Marion Co., Flordia.1 1 General Notes
